Wire to Corner Plate
In this video, we’ll show how to reattach a wire to a corner plate on a ZND panel. A secure repair ensures the panel stays strong at one of its most important connection points.
Step 1 – Safety First:
Before starting, always put on the proper PPE — welding jacket, gloves, and helmet.
Step 2 – Inspect the Break:
Look closely at the wire where it has separated from the corner plate. Confirm the area is clean and ready to weld.
Step 3 – Align the Wire:
Position the wire against the corner plate. Make sure it sits flush and lines up with the existing mesh pattern. A straight alignment will keep the repair both durable and professional in appearance.
Step 4 – Tack the Weld:
Apply a tack weld at one end of the break to hold the wire securely. Then move to the opposite side and add another tack weld. This locks the wire in place.
Step 5 – Complete the Welds:
Once the wire is stable, weld along the contact points until the entire edge is secure. Move steadily to ensure even heat and a consistent finish.
Step 6 – Wrap Up:
After completing the welds, double-check that the wire is firmly attached to the corner plate. A proper repair not only restores strength but also maintains a clean look — keeping your job site stronger, safer, and smarter.
