Tube to Tube Repair
In this video, we’ll repair a panel where one tube has separated from another. Restoring this connection is critical to maintaining full frame strength.
Step 1 – Safety First:
Always wear your welding jacket, gloves, and helmet before beginning the repair.
Step 2 – Align the Tubes:
Position the tubes so they meet evenly. Proper alignment ensures both strength and a clean finish.
Step 3 – Tack and Hold:
Start with a tack weld to secure the tubes. Add a second tack on the opposite side to lock the joint in place.
Step 4 – Weld the Diameter:
Work steadily around the tube’s diameter, welding each side until the connection is fully secure. This creates a strong, continuous bond.
Step 5:
Check the repair for stability. A properly welded tube-to-tube connection restores the panel’s strength and extends its service life.
