Temporary Fencing
ZND Temporary Fencing
Modular mesh temporary fencing (also known as Heras fencing) has proven to be extremely popular with our customers in the construction and event management industries for site demarcation, crowd management and to direct the public away from hazards and into secure areas.
All our temporary fencing is manufactured at our state-of-the-art facility in the UK where we are able to produce 8,000 panels per day, in 30 different specifications.
Frame Style
ZND temporary fencing is available in two frame styles; Square-Top (ST) and Round-Top (RT).
Round-Top temporary fencing panels also get their name from the shape of the frame. Round-Top panels use only two tubes to create the frame as opposed to four, with the tubes being bent to create the distinctive ’round-top’. This improves the robustness of the frame as welded joins are a natural weak point.
Mesh Type
As with most temporary fencing panels in the UK, ZND Panels use welded wire mesh. Where ZND Panels stand-out is the quality of the mesh used. Manufactured in-house and subject to strict quality control tests the wire mesh of ZND Panels is made to fit the frame, eliminating protruding wires and thus reducing the risk of injury.
Uniquely, the mesh of ZND Panels is welded to the frame at every point of contact. This distributes the force of any impact across as many as 170 welds, keeping the mesh attached to the frame and thus the panel useful well beyond what would have destroyed competitor panels.
Welded wire mesh comes in two types; Standard and Anti-Climb.
Standard mesh is suitable for many applications of temporary fencing, however, the wide aperture of the mesh makes it easier for a person to gain a purchase and scale the panel. If security is of particular concern, it is advised to look at the Anti-Climb variant.
As the name suggests, Anti-Climb mesh is more resistant to being scaled, the narrower aperture of the mesh making it difficult for a person to grip or gain a foothold effectively. The increase in vertical wires also increases the welds connecting the mesh to the frame, ensuring an overall more robust panel.
Stabilisers
Wind is the persistent enemy of temporary fencing installations. One incorrectly secured panel can cause a cascade effect that will bring down an entire installation, damaging equipment, property and potentially causing injury or worse. It is therefore vital that any installation is supported with the appropriate stabilising equipment for the expected wind conditions.
ZND have developed a range of stabiliser systems that will help ensure a safe and effective installation, and our Wind Speed Calculator allows customers to measure wind loading performance of a given temporary fencing configuration.
Accessories
Gates, customised covers, reflective strips, fencing extensions and other accessories are all available to help provide a more effective solution.
Powder Coating
Standard temporary fencing panels provide very effective demarcation, but bare steel is not the right look for every situation. Powder coating temporary fencing can create a far more appealing environment for customers and the general public, in addition to providing additional protection against the elements for the products themselves.
Storage & Transport
Storing and transporting temporary fencing panels can be quite a task, one option is to use a dedicated stillage. Stillage units protect inventory, speed up un/loading times, and are stackable so allow for more efficient use of storage space.
